What is lorem ipsum?

Lorem ipsum is placeholder text used to fill a layout before the real words are ready. It starts from a passage of Latin and is jumbled on purpose, so that people look at the design and not at what the text says. Designers, developers and printers have used it for centuries.

For right-to-left layouts, choose Arabic. It is made of common Arabic words and shows how lines wrap and align in your design. It is not meant to be read: replace it with real content before anything goes live.

Does the text start with Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet?

Yes for Latin, if the box is ticked. Untick it to start with any words.

Is there Arabic placeholder text?

Yes. Choose Arabic to get placeholder text in Arabic, useful for testing right-to-left layouts.

Is lorem ipsum real Latin?

It comes from a real text by Cicero, but it has been shuffled and cut so it makes no sense, which is the point.
